Abbott is currently looking for a Superintendent for Healthcare/Hospital projects.
Experience working on Healthcare projects in a superintendent role is required.
SUPERINTENDENT Accountable to Project Manager & Field Operations Manager The Superintendent role:
Superintendent duties and performance measurements:
Must always wear personal protective equipment and enforce that others do the same.
Must be competent person trained.
Runs the field operations of the job so that the total costs on the job are equal to or less than the job budgets.
Works in a manner as to produce a quality outcome resulting in no rework.
Protects the assets of the company through safe and accurate work skills.
Is prepared to work as a Foreman, Project Engineer or Skilled worker on projects when not running a project.
Is willing and prepared to self-perform scopes of work.
Is willing and prepared to run T.
I.
projects performed on night shifts when applicable.
Takes direction from Project Manager and Field Operations Manager.
Builds the job in accordance with the plans and specs that are approved by the Owner and Architect/Engineers.
The daily work tasks get done consistently, with only occasional exceptions.
It is expected that these tasks are either performed personally by the Superintendent, or by others, such as a Project Engineer or Project Assistant.
Interfaces with Owner and Architect on site.
Keeps the Owner and Architect informed in a timely and continuous fashion with the goal of eliminating surprises.
Schedules, both overall and short interval, are generated at whatever frequency is required on the job.
Ensures that Change Order work is authorized prior to proceeding.
Keeps a safe, clean, organized jobsite and overall work area.
Time cards are processed in compliance with established process.
Purchases made at jobsite are compliant with established process.
Directs the on-site operations of subcontractors.
Arranges and ensures that timely inspections are made.
Fills out job diaries daily.
The measurement is the number and type of exceptions that occur in performing these tasks.
This list is not all-inclusive as to the daily tasks performed by Superintendents.

Ability to reach clear, productive agreements with the Project Manager about how to run the Job.
Must be able to:
Create teamwork on the project in such a way that all customers, internal and external, experience a project that is consistent with the Company Charter.
Operate in an intense multi-task environment and successfully delegate many tasks, positioning people to succeed.
Mandatory qualifications include:
Must have Healthcare project experience.
Must be able to establish a jobsite culture of safe work practices and productivity.
Must be able to work independently and manage others on assigned tasks.
Must have willingness and desire to learn and teach.
Must be very familiar with all aspects of the project's field operations.
Must have basic understanding of construction law and contracts.
Must have desire to achieve high level of quality and standards.
Must be able to do material take-offs as required.
Must have all tools listed on the complete tool list required by Abbott and be willing to use them when needed.
Must have knowledge of safe tool use and proper maintenance of company tools, as well as personal tools.
Must be well-versed in steel stud framing, dry wall, taping, painting finishes, doors and hardware, painting, and cabinetry.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specs and be willing to teach others.
Must have a full working knowledge of specific trade techniques and practices.
Must be able to prepare a basic schedule using Microsoft Project.
Must be able to build a three week schedule using Excel or Microsoft Project.
Must be able to manage Subcontractors in the field.
Must have exposure to both occupied and unoccupied remodel work.
Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsite.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able and willing to review shop drawings.
Must be able to generate RFI'S with little oversight.
Computer skills:
Preferred Educational background:
High school diploma, or equivalent; vocational education; continuing industry education (such as AGC's Supervisory Training Program); apprenticeship.
Intangible:
An intense desire to work in construction and related services, and with the people in these fields.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
