Company Description About Starpoint Job Description This is a VERY LONG term contract that has a pay rate of $20/hr Role Summary o Maintain, repair and update test fleet and production vehicles as instructed by Engineering Services Team Leader or responsible engineer.
Role Responsibilities Technical Support (80%) o Test vehicles under varying conditions to determine and document cause of problems o Perform and evaluate repairs according to current or newly developed repair information Non-Technical Support (20%) o Shipping and receiving support for visiting engineering test teams o Maintain technical proficiency through service or factory training.
o Maintain appearance and function of workshop area.
o Other duties as assigned Work Flexibility o (Work schedule based on business requirements (min.
40 hours / week ) including occasional Saturday and occasional overtime, core work hours 7AM - 4PM o Often driving a motor vehicle, incl.
performance class, special training required.
o Commonly sit at a desk or table.
o Occasionally walk, stand, or stoop.
Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
Experience Required o 1-3 years of automotive industry experience Education Required o High School Diploma or equivalent o Automotive vocational technical training o Volkswagen and/or Audi product training Certificate in Automotive Technology, desired Specialized Skills Required o Basic ability with Microsoft Office applications o Highly organized and dependable o Ability to work well independently and with minimal supervision o Minimum two ASE certifications:
One engine related o Recent Automotive drivetrain diagnostic experience o Heavy duty line experience Specialized Skills Desired o Knowledge of emission testing processes o Formal Customer Service Training o Extensive Volkswagen and/or Audi diagnostic experience including VAS testers o ASE Master / Volkswagen or Audi certification o German and/or Spanish language skills o Proficiency with MS Office applications Other Skills o Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written o Excellent teamwork ability and strong interpersonal skills o Computer savvy - skilled in the use of software o Problem solving o Highly motivated self-starter with a high bias for action o Demonstrates flexibility to work under pressure and multi-task Source:
