Speech Language Pathologist (Contract) - Ventura, CA - 2023/2024 School Year As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome speech and language challenges, facilitating effective communication skills, and promoting academic success.
Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders, providing individualized therapy sessions, and collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
Develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques and approaches.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies and support the student's communication skills in the classroom setting.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to discuss student progress and set new goals.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program.
California state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred but not mandatory.
Prior experience working with school-aged children is advantageous.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
