Ventura, CA Ventura, CA Full-time Full-time $32 - $33 an hour $32 - $33 an hour Position Summary The Social Worker shall have primary responsibility for coordinating all psychosocial community services under the general direction of the Clinical Program Director.
The Service Coordinator is responsible for implementing community educational programs, assessing problems, and determining appropriate types and methods of treatment with the service team, implementing intervention methodologies, and scheduling client treatments.
Education Must have a Master's degree in Social Work and/or Family Therapy Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the assessment, planning, arranging, and implementing of psychosocial programs.
Responsible for the content of education and counseling programs for both individual clients or groups of clients and serves as a liaison to community, individuals, and groups as appropriate.
Counsel clients and interpret professional and lay groups the special psychosocial needs of clients by identifying needs.
Conduct intake assessments.
Review and evaluate recent psychosocial health research and interpret it for professionals and clients.
Perform short term counseling and crisis intervention as necessary.
Assist in the scheduling and implementation of specialized therapeutic services.
Prepare materials as needed or required.
Coordinate with clinical, health education, community, and other staff members in the provision of services to clients.
Provide referrals for services needed.
Coordinate with other organizational entities involved in services.
Provide in-service presentations to staff as needed or required.
Provide community service information as an outreach worker such as required.
Assume other responsibilities as directed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) M.
A.
in Social Work and/or Family Therapy 2-3 years of work experience in a social services capacity with adults with developmental disabilities.
2-3 years of experience as a trained social worker.
Pass a background check and TB test.
Valid California Driver's license.
Reliable transportation with valid California registration & insurance.
