The Site Director plans, develops, and oversees the site administration and delivery of early childhood education, nutrition, health and social services under Head Start Performance Standards and the Department of Education regulations.
Monitors and ensures the program meets applicable Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations.
Hiring Range:
$64,480 - 77,785/yr Responsibilities Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates program elements relating to the delivery of services for Early Head Start and Head Start Programs.
Develops policies and procedures to ensure that needs of participants and their families are met.
Provides oversight for supply and equipment purchasing within budgetary constraints.
Oversees facilities and equipment maintenance.
Directs community outreach and marketing activities.
Designs and implements family engagement efforts.
Links families to community and social service resources.
Acts as a liaison between parents and social service agencies.
Creates and oversees agreements with community partners to ensure the availability of a comprehensive array of services for children and their families.
Monitors the preparation of documents required by government agencies; prepares reports and correspondence; responds to inquiries from outside agencies and creates presentations to support Head Start and/or Early Head Start activities as required.
Attends various professional, governmental, and public meetings representing the program and the services provided.
Delivers presentations to community groups and others as required.
Interprets, implements, and trains designated staff on various operating policies and procedures, including curriculum implementation, safety program, and emergency and health issues.
Provides support in maintaining and organizing the parent center committees and councils.
Coordinates the interviewing, selection, orientation and ongoing training of staff in collaboration with the Policy Council.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and 5
years of experience with progressive responsibility in early childhood education and services, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Must possess a Site Supervisor permit or higher from the State of California.
Ability to properly interpret and implement regulations of the California Department of Education, Funding Terms and Conditions (Title 5), Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing (Title 22), Early Head Start Performance Standards, and of Easterseals policies and procedures.
Must possess and maintain current pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR and first aid certificate as well as a food handler's certificate.
Demonstrated early childhood leadership activities in the community.
Fluent in facilitating resources and in developing meaningful partnerships designed to help children and families succeed.
Experience working with children with mental health and/or developmental disabilities.
Ability to recognize children and families in crisis.
Training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with very young children; must develop knowledge of infant and toddler development, safety issues in infant and toddler child care settings (i.
e.
, reducing the risk of SIDS).
Prior to beginning work and on an annual basis thereafter, must complete California-mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training as well as Pesticide Safety Training (per Healthy Schools Act).
Ability to communicate effectively, through verbal and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.
Must relate well to children and their families.

Exercise sound judgment, establish and meet timelines.
Coordinate and implement school site programs.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (e.

Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
Must have sex offender index clearance.
Ability to travel locally, maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards, maintain proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
