Job Description:
This position is for a Sr.
RF/EM Design Engineer in the Advanced Mobile Solutions (AMS) Division in Skyworks Newbury Park, CA design center as part of a group of RF/EM design engineers in support of high-volume power amplifier products and sub-systems for cellular handset applications.
Our RF/EM Design Engineers will drive designs of passive RF circuits in a fast-paced team environment, and are required to work closely with PA design engineers to optimize a design by extensive co-simulations As a Skyworks AMS employee you have the chance to have a uniquely large impact on the success of the company.
The responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
o Designing semi-lumped RF matching networks in a PCB environment o Designing high-isolation laminate layouts to support high-rejection SAW and BAW filters o Co-simulating power amplifier designs o Participating and conducting design reviews o Generating circuit specifications o Performing lab testing using RF test equipment The circuit blocks involved in a typical product development include:
o Power Amplifiers o SAW/BAW Duplexers & High-Q RF Filters o Switches o Power Detectors o High-directivity couplers Software Tools Used are:
o Ansoft HFSS, o Agilent ADS and Momentum o Matlab o Excel o Microsoft Office/Outlook Hardware Tools Used are:
o Network Analyzers o Spectrum Analyzers o Signal Generators o Digital Receivers o Load-Pull/Tuners o RF Probe Stations About Skyworks AMS Division:
The AMS Division at Skyworks is focused on the design and manufacture of a broad range of high performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors that enable wireless connectivity.
Our power amplifiers, front-end modules, integrated radio frequency solutions, and discrete components can be found in many of the cellular handsets offered by the worlds leading handset manufacturers.
Our solutions include highly customized PAs, FEMs, multi-throw switches and front end discrete components.
Job Requirements:
o MSEE or PhD with emphasis in RF and EM theory, or equivalent preferred o Innovative problem solver o A passion to win/contribute o Ability to work in, and thrive in, a team environment o Lab experience using network analyzer o RF/EM design experience o Power amplifier knowledge is a plus Source:
