CONSTRUCTION MECHANIC
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The ability to perform the duties of a Construction Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing the following duties:
1) Repairing and maintaining roofs, masonry structures, floorings, and/or various surfaces; 2) Inspecting and repairing various disposal systems, high-pressure systems, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and/or climate control systems; 3) Determining the necessary tools (e.g. hammers, chisels, brushes, welding equipment, hand and/or power tools) and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks; and 4) Following blueprints and guidelines to accomplish work. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
