Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Mechanic

Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to do the work of a Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning Mechanic with no more than normal supervision performing including:
1) Examining and making repairs to systems that include analog and direct digital control (DDC) systems used in complex heating ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; and 2) Performs complex repairs of subassemblies (e.g. pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, heat exchange) to extend system service life and complete scheduled maintenance; 3) Evacuates moisture from air conditioning and refrigeration systems using a vacuum pump and gages to observe results and unit performance; 4) Utilizing equipment of the trade (e.g. leak detectors, thermometers, vacuum pumps, gages) to perform repairs and adjustments to system and equipment; 5) Program direct digital controllers for efficient management of air conditioning and heating equipment. 6) Follows all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the use and handling of refrigerants in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations). 1) Installs and repairs a variety of systems components such as compressors, which include gear, reciprocating, centrifugal, or rotary pump and a variety of refrigerant controls such as those with low and high pressure side floats, automatic thermostatic expansion valves, capillary or choke types, and those base on volume or quantity changes; 2) Assists with performing repairs of subassemblies (e.g. pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, heat exchange) to extend system service life and complete scheduled maintenance; 3) Utilizing equipment of the trade (e.g. leak detectors, thermometers, vacuum pumps, gages) to perform repairs and adjustments to system and equipment.
