Receptionist/Legal Secretary, 8/2011 – 8/2015

  •  Initially I was hired as the receptionist.  I handled the switch board, directed calls, arranged conference calls and greeted visitors.

  • In addition to receptionist duties, I was responsible for opening, sorting, organizing and indexing of all incoming files.

  • I was eventually given the opportunity to be promoted to a Legal Secretary, which I gladly accepted.

  • My role as legal secretary encompassed transcribing/formatting dictation. Preparation of legal documents in accordance with WCAB and EAMS procedure.

  • Liaison between attorneys, clients, healthcare providers, insurance carriers and law firms.

  • In addition, I trained two new hires in the role of the receptionist and to assist with the intricacies/training of opening the new files which came in.

  • Preparation of cases from discovery to trial phase. Trial preparation when cases do not settle.

  • Ensure communication with attorney service for filing of documents in court in accordance with deadlines.
